Easter Egg Hunt for the Visually Impaired

For more than twenty years, the Mount Prospect Lions Club has collaborated with the NSSEOs Vision Program and the Telephone Pioneers for this event. Visually impaired children and their siblings participate in an egg hunt where they search for beeping Easter eggs using sound recognition. The larger eggs mimic bird sounds, while the smaller ones emit sharp, high-pitched beeping sounds. Children who need assistance are supported by members of the Lions Club, NSSEO, and volunteers from the Telephone Pioneers. The Telephone Pioneers are associated with the Teletype Corporation, known for their research, development, and manufacturing of data and record communications equipment, and primarily recognized for the production of electromechanical teleprinters.
